Johnny Depp In Wuthering Heights ?

There is a rumor going around again about Johnny and Angelina being attached to star in Wuthering Heights in 2010. This rumor has been going around since 2006 and sadley I think it is just a rumor.

The only 2010 release of Wuthering Heights that I am aware of does not star Johnny or Angelina. This release which was to be directed by John Maybury who recently abandoned the project is now without a Director for the second time. Wuthering Heights is being released by production company Ecosse Films. Michael Fassbender who was confirmed as playing Heathcliff and is still attached. The role of Cathy was to be played by Natalie Portman who also abandoned the project. Abbie Cornish is now supposed to be playing Cathy. There have not been any new announcements as to who will now direct the movie which is currently in Pre-Production.

Johnny & THe Kids Rock The House

Johnny Depp and The Kids rocked the house last night after they returned to for the second annual Sheila Witkin Memorial Reunion Concert which honors The Kids' late manager, which also happens to be one of the band members Mother (Bruce Witkin) who was well known in South Florida's music scene.

Through live music and in Sheila Witkin's memory, The foundations cause is to support proven charities that make a difference. Some of the proceeds from the benefit go to the Dan Marino Foundation, which funds programs for children with special needs. Johnny and the Kids are scheduled to rock out again tonight on htis second night of the two day event.

Johnny Depp has been Nominated again in the 2nd Annual British National Movie Awards which goes Live on 8th September 2008. Nominations Category for Johnny Is; Best Male Performance for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Of Fleet Street & Best Musical for Sweeny Todd. Helena Bonham Carter has also been nominated for Best female perfomance for Sweeney Todd.

Johnny is heading to Florida to perform with his old band The Kids for another Sheila Witken Memorial Concert. This is the second gig for the band, last year they performed a gig together to help raise $30,000.00 for proven Charities that make a difference. The Kids reunion will be performing on August, 29 & 30th 2008 at Club Cinema in Pompano Beach, Florida. This year the goal for The Sheila Witkin Foundation is to raise over $100,000.00. Anthony House For Alice In Wonderland

Tim Burton, has chosen Antony House in Torpoint, Cornwall, as the outside set for his adaptation of Lewis Carroll's book. The 18th century house, garden and a woodland will be closed to the public from September 1 to October 14 to allow filming to take place. The multi-million pound movie, rumoured to star Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, is due for release in 2010 and will be shown in 3D. Swarms of people rushed to a series of auditions to be extras in the movie held in Plymouth, Devon, last month. Over 3,000 hopefuls appeared before casting agents to fill just 250 places. Australian newcomer Mia Wasikowsk will play the part of Alice.

Johnny & The Kids Radio Interview

Johnny reunited with his old band The Kids for a benefit concert this past Friday night, and prior to that event, he joined his bandmates (via phone) for an interview with Paul and Young Ron on Big 105.9 in Miami. The hosts wanted to know about the rumors that Depp would be playing The Riddler in the next Batman movie. And here is Johnny's response;

Q: Hey Johnny, a listener called in earlier said you have to ask about the rumors on the internet of you doing the Riddler.
A: Oh yeah, I heard about that. Not that I know of.
Q: You’d be a good choice.
A: It seems like it’d be a fun gig for a while, yeah.

Generous Johnny Donates Salary

In a recent Interview Terry Gilliam mentioned that Johnny Depp along with Will Farrell and Jude Law have decided to donate their entire salary from their part in the movie to Matilda, Heath's daughter. Director Terry Gilliam said:

"The three actors were totally heroic coming in. This doesn’t happen very often, where there’s a tragedy like this, and very famous, very successful actors suddenly say, “Okay, we’ll do whatever it takes to help.” They came; they did the work; they allowed the movie to be finished; they didn’t take money–the money goes to Heath’s daughter. That’s extraordinary! And wonderful . . . and when you’re part of that, you think, “Ah, this is maybe why I went into the movies, in the beginning. I thought it would be full of wonderful people. And in our case, we’ve got a movie full of wonderful people, who did extraordinary things to help.

Who Will Direct Rex Mindi?

In an article published on August the 13th by MTV Splash. Radical Publishing president Barry Levine, who is co-producing the “Rex Mundi” film with Depps’ Infinitum Nihil production company. Though the mystery in Arvid Nelson’s graphic novels involves the Holy Grail and a descendant of Jesus Christ, screenwriter Jim Uhls has changed the story somewhat. “The second draft is now coming in from Jim,” Levine said, “and Warner Bros. is pretty excited about it. They came up with a couple of names for directors, so now we just need Johnny to look at the list. It all begins and ends with Johnny. He’s got to be happy with the script, and he gave his notes, so we’ll see what happens next.”

Johnny Depp As Mad Hatter?

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Johnny Depp might play the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton’s remake of the classic Alice in Wonderland 3-D, scheduled for a 2010 release. Sources reveals that the film will be live-action until Alice (played by Mia Wasikowska) falls down the rabbit hole and meets the loopy tea party host. Johnny Wins Teen Choice Awards 2008

Johnny has Won Choice Movie Villian for Sweeny Todd. Miley Cyrus hosted the 10th annual Teen Choice Awards at the Gibson Amphitheater at Universal Studios in Hollywood On Sunday Night. The Show will air tonight August 4th on Fox TV Channel. Johnny was not at the Ceremony to receive his award.
