Public Enemies Premiere is rumored to be at Mann Village Theatre in Westwood LA on the 23-Jun-09 and most likely by invitation only. There is more good news though Public Enemies will be screened across Wisconsin on June 30. The events, to be held the day before the film opens nationwide, were announced by Scott Robbe, executive director of Film Wisconsin, the group that functions as the state's film commission.
A party will be held at the Milwaukee County Historical Society Museum, one of the locations for the filming. Then a screening will follow at Marcus Majestic Cinema, with proceeds benefiting the museum.
A Madison screening will be held at the Marcus Point Cinema; the location of the Madison party is yet to be determined.
In Oshkosh, the party will take place at Wittman Field, which was a location in the filming, and will feature cars and planes used in the film. The film will be shown on two screens at Marcus Oshkosh Cinemas, benefiting the Oshkosh Facade Program for preservation of historic areas in the city, where filming took place.
Film tickets will be $50 for VIP seating and $25 for general seating. Separate party tickets are required. Information on how to obtain tickets will be announced closer to the events. All three events also will benefit Film Wisconsin.

The Era of Public Enemies
The Oshkosh Public Museum will open its summer exhibit, The Era of Public Enemies: A Wave of Crime in a Troubled Time. The exhibit merges history and Hollywood to recreate the scene of the 1930s and transport visitors back 75 years to one of the most tumultuous economic and criminal times in America.

The Era of Public Enemies invites visitors to revisit the string of Midwest bank robberies that captivated America by experiencing the conditions and circumstances leading to the infamous crime wave and allure of gangsters. Take a seat in an art deco movie theater and experience life behind bars in a dank 1930 jail cell. Learn of the rise of the FBI and structured law enforcement as the feds attempt to take down American gangsters and the booming crime wave of the 1930s. Artifacts on display include John Dillinger's death mask, a Thompson Submachine gun and an art deco back bar from a local yacht club.
The 2008 filming of Universal Studios' Public Enemies transformed downtown Oshkosh into a 1930s Midwestern town, caught in the middle of a great depression and the public enemy era. Relive the transformation of Wisconsin for the 2008 filming of Michael Mann's Public Enemies. In this community-curated section, props and images of downtown, actors, extras and set design will recreate the thrill of those few days of Hollywood in Oshkosh.
The museum will open its original exhibit, "The Era of Public Enemies: A Wave of Crime in a Troubled Time," June 27 – four days before "Public Enemies," the gangster film starring Johnny Depp, Giovani Ribisi, Christian bale & Marion Cotillard opens in theaters. Secrets To Filming Rango
Stephen Root from "Office Space" told MTV about a secret project. Gore Verbinski, Director of Rango wanted the cast of Rango to shoot the film.
“We actually rented a soundstage on the Universal lot and shot the whole film, 8 pages a day,” Root said of the movie, which had Depp running around a vacant stage, pretending he had bug-eyes and green scales.
“We used no makeup, but some costumes and some sketch scenery and props,” he continued. “We’d shoot a scene, then go over to another part of the stage and record the lines clean for the animation. We’ll continue to do that for the next two years. It was interesting, because we were filming an animated movie.”
“It’s a Western in the sense that these animals are in a desert town, and the story takes place in an Arizona desert town,” Root explained of the film. “It’s now, but once you’re out in the desert it might as well be 1850. I play the drunk rabbit Doc, and Mr. Merrymac the Owl Banker. I also do a porcupine, a minor character. But that was the fun part about doing it with Gore – we’d get to the porcupine and he’d say “There’s a character with three lines, who’d be good at that? You!”
“Obviously, his films have made a couple of bucks, so they gave him the leeway to do this,” Root explained of Verbisnki’s unusual shoot. “Gore wanted to see our movements, our expressions, what camera angles he wants [the animators] to use…It was huge that Johnny would come in and do this for him.”
“It was fun. Everybody played the script, so it was pretty contained, but there was some improv-ing going on,” explained Root, who stars in this week’s new film “Bob Funk” with Rachael Leigh Cook. “I hope Gore got a lot out of it. I guess we’ll see later on in the process.”

Sam Sarker Talks About Rex Mundi
MTV had an exclusive Interview with Sam Sarker Director of development for Johnny Depp's Infinitum Nihil. We Know the script is out to directors and that Johnny is attached as Julien Sauniere a physician in the 1930s who embarks on a journey for the Holy Grail. According to Infinitum Director of Development Sam Sarkar, the studio wants a talent on the level of “Watchmen” mastermind Zack Snyder to bring the Dark Horse series to the big screen.
"We really need to find a guy who has that kind of visual style — not unlike Zack Snyder,” Sarkar told MTV News. “You need a guy that’s that kind of visionary to do ‘Rex,’ because it’s a really visually complex world.”
When asked who he envisioned helming “Rex Mundi,” Sarkar didn’t hesitate to name-drop the director who has already tackled graphic novels by luminaries Frank Miller and Alan Moore.
“The challenge with ‘Rex’ is that its world is going to be, visually, really different,” Sarkar explained. “Even the comics that Arvid and Eric originally did, which were sort of an alternate Paris of the 1930s… we’ve gone even further out with it, in an interesting way, with the adaptation from Jim [Uhls], who did ‘Fight Club.’”
The thriller, set around mysteries of the Knights Templar and Holy Grail, has had a long road to get to where it’s at now. As Nelson blogged here on Splash Page, even though “Mundi” beat “The DaVinci Code” to publication, Dan Brown’s explosion of popularity initially eclipsed the comic in Hollywood.

Daniel Depp Dedicates his Book to Johnny
The older half-brother of Johnny Depp just launched his debut novel, Loser's Town, following a bidding war among publishers and accepts there will be cries of nepotism. Daniel new book Losers Town seems to be doing really well and Johnny couldn't be more proud of him:
"To say that I am proud is a monumental understatement. I've been proud for a long, long time, having been well aware of my brother's great talent for the majority of my life. That he and his work are finally being recognised by readers and serious book-heads alike is, of course, spectacular, but not all that surprising."
When asked: Is there sibling rivalry? "We're veering off in the wrong direction here," he says,
"John [Depp] was wonderfully supportive about me writing the book. I'd written a lot before that he's read that nobody else has ever seen. I never felt compelled to publish. When I decided to go ahead, he was ecstatic."

~Warner Bros to Announce Dark Shadows~
We all know that Johnny was rumored to play Barnabas Collins in the film adaption of Dark Shadows and that the film was currently in development. The status of the film has been unknown for a while. Sam Sarker of Infinitum Nihil has recently confirmed that Johnny will indeed be starring in the film adaption and that it will soon be going into production. MTV spoke with Sam Sarker about the film production and when it came to those Internet rumors about Tim Burton signing on to direct, though, Sarkar was somewhat more circumspect. “I can neither confirm nor deny that,” he said. “But I know it’s out there in the ether.” While all the pieces are not yet in place, “Dark Shadows” is still very much a go at Warner Bros. “All I can say is that one is very active,” Sarkar said. “The studio will be making some announcements regarding it pretty soon. Very soon, probably.”

Amber Heard Is Cool About Johnny Depp
Amber Heard recently talked with MensStyle Magazine Italy and was asked about her role in the upcoming Rum Diary due to start filming 30th March in Puerto Rico. Reading through the translation Amber who apparently went up against big stars like Scarlett Johansson seemed a little relectant at first to show her enthusiam working with Johnny, but went on to say she respect him enormously. Anyway here is part of the article in Italian and English:
Insomma, cosa si prova a lavorare con JohnnyDepp?
It's cool, ti basta?", mi fa con una risatina come per prendermi in giro.
How is it to work with Johnny Depp?
It’s cool, is it enough?
Lo so, è la domanda base assolutamente scema, però lui è Johnny Depp. Riesci a sforzarti un po' di più?
I know, it’s the typical idiotic question, but he’s Johnny Depp. Can you make a little effort?
Ok. Then I’ll admit that I’m really happy, excited. But I won’t be telling you that when I was growing up I saw all of Johnny Depp’s films because it isn’t true. In fact, at the moment I may be able to recall one out of them all. But this is exactly his strength: he built a formidable artistic career without linking his image to a particular work. I respect enormously his integrity, his choices, the authenticity he’s known to bring into this craft. It’s a qualification that goes beyond Hollywood and the traditional way that people usually judge actors.
