~Rob Marshall Excited To Work With Johnny Depp~

MTV's Josh Horowitz spoke to Marshall at the press junket for his upcoming musical "Nine," he had to squeeze in a few questions about the status of his work on "Pirates."

~Johnny Depp Sexiest Man Alive Again~

Johnny Depp was named People magazine's "sexiest man alive" for a second time today, joining an elite club of double honorees that includes George Clooney and Brad Pitt. People magazine described the swashbuckling "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie star as "the king of cool with the killer cheekbones". Depp, who also took the title in 2003, succeeded 2008 winner Hugh Jackman. Asked why Depp, 46, had won a second time, People senior editor Kate Coyne told the CBS Early Show: "He was sexy ten years ago, he'll be sexy ten years from now. He appeals to multiple generations of women -- and for many different reasons to different kinds of women."

~Mad Hatter Reveals Full Alice Poster~

Well seems like The Mad Hatter has given up on anyone liking him and has revealed the full poster in all it's glory.

As all of you here may have already had a guess what the third treasure from The Mad Hatter was to be and it looks like they did too by letting us off with less than the 9,000 Likes. I am sure this is mainly due to fans already seeing all of the poster in full from The Cinema Preview Magazine. However The Mad Hatter did mention that we will never know what secret treasure may have been revealed because he did not get the 9,000 likes he was looking for. ~Disney Close To Naming Pirates 4 Director~

Walt Disney President Robert A. Iger has confirmed that they are close to naming a Director for Pirates of The Caribbean On Stranger Tides.

During their fourth quarterly earnings call Igar said: "We are close to naming a director. Johnny Depp is very much on board and we expect to be commencing shooting with Pirates 4 sometime in the Spring. So looks like things are moving nicely and Pirates 4 is still on track to start filming Apr/May. To view transcript click here.

~Johnny Depp Confirmed To Host MoMA Benefit~

We told you in September that Johnny Depp and Helena Bottom Carter was scheduled to attend The MoMA Benefit in honor of Tim Burton. According to this press release Johnny will actually be hosting the benefit.

Johnny Depp is to co-host a tribute to acclaimed filmmaker Tim Burton.

The three-time Oscar nominee, who has starred in seven of Burton's films including Edward Scissorhands, Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and the upcoming Alice In Wonderland, will chair the star-studded ceremony with Tim's long-term partner, Helena Bonham-Carter.

The glittering gala dinner - which is expected to see Hollywood stars James Franco, Danny DeVito, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen and Miranda Kerr - will take place at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York on November 17.

Tim's directorial work and 27-year career is also the subject of a MoMA exhibition taking place from November 22 until April 26, 2010.

The exhibit will trace and celebrate his visual imagination, and will feature his earliest childhood drawings through his later works. 700 rarely or never-seen-before drawings, paintings, storyboards, moving-image works, puppets, maquettes, costumes, and cinematic ephemera will be shown.

~Disney Looking At Puerto Rico To Film Pirates 4~

According to El Vocero Disney Executives scouting Locations for Pirates of The Caribbean “On Stranger Tides” arrived in Puerto Rico yesterday with the Film Corporation of Puerto Rico on to explore possible filming locations within Puerto Rico. Johnny Depp is not a stranger to Puerto Rico as his latest film The Rum Diary due out next year was filmed there this year. The Film Corporation of Puerto Rico also took part in the American Film Market in Santa Monica earlier last week where Johnny was seen visiting an Art Gallery.

Pirates of The Caribbean On Stranger Tides is due to start filming Apr/May 2010 with Johnny returning as Captain Jack & Geoffrey Rush as Captain Barbossa.

~Public Enemies Comes In at No 1 In Italy~

Although public enemies has closed in the US it is still proving to be popular no matter what the critics say good or bad. According to the Hollywood Reporter Italy has turned out at the weekend and put the movie into the number one spot taking in a total of $3.5 million bringing its current Foreign total to $104.3 million, of course Public Enemies is still due to open in Japan on Dec 12th so we are still counting. The US total stands at $97,104,620. Public enemies has just been taken over by Paranormal Activity placing it 6th for R Rated Releases in the US. Public Enemies is due to be released in Blue Ray, Single Disk and Two Disk Special Edition in the US On 12th December and is currently available for Pre-Order. Public Enemies has already been released on DVD in the UK and if you have not yet seen the movie here is a great review.

~All Time Low Song On Alice In Wonderland Soundtrack~

All Time Low is apparently recording a song for the soundtrack of Tim Burton's adaption of Alice In Wonderland. Song title is still to be confirmed so until I know I will leave it out the post. Any updates and or links will be posted here first if and when I get more information. All Time Low is an American pop punk band from Baltimore, Maryland, which formed in 2003. The band members are Alex Gaskarth (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Jack Barakat (lead guitar, backing vocals), Zack Merrick (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Rian Dawson (drums, percussion).

~Will Johnny Depp Sign Up For The Tourist~

According to Variety Johnny Depp is in talks to star with Angelina Jolie in “The Tourist,” Johnny Depp would play an American tourist drawn into a web of intrigue and danger by a female Interpol agent (Jolie) as she attempts to locate a criminal who was once her lover. Graham King’s GK Films is financing and distributing through his multi-picture output deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment which was due to start filming in February. Johnny was brought into the mix by King, with whom he has a close relationship, most recently collaborating on “The Rum Diary” and the Gore Verbinski-directed animated pic “Rango.”

The Tourist a remake of the french film "Anthony Zimmer" has recently went through some bumpy rides after “Avatar” star Sam Worthington exited along with director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, both over creative differences. But apparently directors are circling to take on this project, including Alfonso Cuaron. Here is the French Trailer for Anthony Zimmer.

As you know Johnny is due to start filming Pirates 4 in April/May next year and if he does sign if anything will this delay Pirates 4? Then there is The Rum Diary which is due for release next year and Dark Shadows also due to start filming 2010 so the questions on my mind is does he really have time to squeeze all this in? ~Bruckheimer Confirms Pirates Full Steam Ahead~

In a short but exclusive Interview Steve Weintraub from Collinder spoke with Jerry Bruckheimer about the status of Pirates Of The Caribbean "On Stranger Tides". Since no official spokeman has been able to confirm or deny the rumors that Johnny Depp is not doing Pirates 4 after Cooks exit there are some questions still on everyones mind is Johnny in or out. Although we are convinved it is still full steam ahead for the project this is for those who are still a little skeptical.

Steve Wientrub Reports: I decided to ask Mr. Bruckheimer what’s up with “Pirates of the Caribbean 4″. As you might have heard, a management shakeup recently happened at Disney and rumors have been flying that Johnny Depp might not do the film with former Chairman Dick Cook out of the picture. Since no one has been able to confirm or deny the rumor, with my limited time I decided to ask Mr. Bruckheimer three questions: I asked what’s up with the script, when are they going to shoot the film, and did the regime change cause any problems. He told me they’ve gotten the script, the management change will not affect the production, and he believes they’ll be filming next year. Of course things change along the way, but the way he spoke to me about the project, I believe the Black Pearl is going to be looking for the Fountain of Youth quite soon.

That's it folks and about as official as it is going to get and at least we have it from the producer himself.

~Terry Gilliam On The Making Of Parnassus~

Making Of sat down with Gilliam to learn more about the making of "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus". “Imaginarium’s” initial concept came from the simple notion of bringing something from another time into present day. Gilliam thought that a “traveling theater” would be the perfect starting place. He then added the need to make a choice between good and not good and then good and evil. As Gilliam does in all his films he started mixing things together and out came a movie that includes themes of imagination, mortality, family, and more.

~Interview With Dark Shadows Jonathan Frid ~

Thane Burnett, of SUN MEDIA recently Interviewed Jonathan Frid from The original TV Show Dark Shadows. The 85 year old actor now retired spoke about when he first took the role of Barnabas, he was relieved it didn’t immediately air around his home-turf of Hamilton. That meant his friends wouldn’t have to see it. “But suddenly, it took off,” he recalls. “And I was getting 5,000 pieces of (fan mail) every week.” said Frid.

Frid offers some words of wisdom to Johnny Depp “The key (to playing Barnabas) is telling lies with such finesse that the other characters in the story can’t see through them…but of course the audience can. “They are in on everything. Be sure to keep the two groups apart.”

He’s become more comfortable in finding things to like about his vampire but does admit to not really understanding the die-hard fans. And he has no real interest in a cameo in Depp’s Dark Shadows revival. Unless, he quickly adds: “I’m paid a good, hearty stipends.”

~Depp & Burton Attend Whitehouse Halloween Party~

President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama on Saturday handed out treats to more than 2,000 trick-or-treaters, marking their Halloween at a White House event partly aimed at honoring military families.

Johnny Depp & Tim Burton were amoung the attendess at the Whitehouse Halloween Party and apparently Johnny was very popular with the children because of his Jack Sparrow character from Pirates Of The Caribbean. It is not known yet if Depp & Burton dressed up for the Party but we do know there was some characters from The Night Before Christmas and apparently a tea party with the Mad Hatter....could this have been Johnny Depp?
