“I don’t know. I heard next year that’s [when] it’s going to come out. Johnny is making Pirates of the Caribbean and I think that he’s too busy to promote something right now. He’s working in Hawaii. I think they’re going to wait to put it out next year.”In our last Rum Diary post we told you about an Interview with E1 Entertainment Benelux who provided the online photos for The Rum Diary, FilmTotaal asked them to clarify some information regards the status of TRD, posted here. ~ Angelina Jolie On Johnny Depp & The Tourist~
Angelina was Interviewed by Sheknows Entertainment. When asked how it was working with Johnny Depp she briefly commented on her movie role in the Tourist.
It’s a throwback to To Catch a Thief. We wanted to make a film that felt like a real pleasure for the audience -- a place that was beautiful, something that was romantic, but also funny, a good thriller. That’s something that is really enjoyable, that’s what we set out to do. Me and Johnny just wanted to make something for audiences that is a real pleasure to watch. The Tourist directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck completed filming this year and currently in post-production. The Tourist Revolves around Frank, an American tourist visiting Italy to mend a broken heart. Elise is an extraordinary woman who deliberately crosses his path. Frank pursues a potential romance but soon finds himself pursued as they are both caught in a whirlwind of intrigue and danger. The Tourist is due to be released early next year but as yet there is no confirmed release date. You can read the Interview here.

~ Johnny Depp Surprised Comic Con With Teaser~
Today Johnny Depp surprised attendees by filming a special 3D teaser for the audience at Comic Con. Sitting with a bottle of Rum in his hand he told everyone that it certainly wasn't the case that he would soon be embarking on a quest to find the fountain of youth but that, even if he were, he wouldn't be looking for a crew. But, if he did, would anyone in the audience be interested? He promised that such an adventure would include "zombies, cutthroats, mermaids and... Penelope Cruz" and that it would be the kind of quest that would require "A bloody map. Or a bloody Mary. Or both."
Thanks to Angelina & Iamadepphead for finding the original videos and to the person who uploaded that video, unfortunately these videos are no longer available. Pirates of the Caribbean is currently filming in Hawaii and due to be released in 3D on May 2011.
~Warner Bros Signs Seth Grahame-Smith For Dark Shadows~
More movement from the Shadows with Depp & Burton's movie adaption of Dark Shadows whether you can see it is a step forward or step back is debatable. The last we heard was from Richard Zanuck saying the project was very much alive. The script originally was written by John August based on the Dan Curtis-created characters. Now we take another step back as apparently Warner Brothers have signed on Sethe Grahame-Smith who's version of the movie adaption seems to be an entirely new screenplay, rather than just a revision.
Warner Bros. hasn't set a release date for Dark Shadows, but it was included as one of the projects covered in a deal announced in late April between Imax and Warner Bros. Johnny Depp obtained feature rights to "Dark Shadows" from the estate of Dan Curtis, the producer-director who created the vampire soap opera.
~Jerry Bruckheimer Talks About JohnnyDepp With Charlie Rose~
During an Interview with Charlie Rose, Jerry Bruckheimer was asked about Johnny Depp and the popularity of Jack Sparrow. Jerry went on to say " I think he’s so irreverent. I mean, he’s so much fun to watch. He goes against the norm. He is the -- the ultimate pirate. And it’s something he loves playing. He is so inventive, every time he takes on a movie role, the character is completely different. it’s amazing.when you have an artist of his stature that can go and make these hugely successful movies".

~Johnny's Back As Captain Jack On Set In Hawaii~
Filming for Pirates On Stranger Tides started in Hawaii a couple of weeks ago and with the location of filming it is difficult for anyone to get close enough for some set pictures. But today we are lucky enough to get a sneak peak at Johnny being back in costume as Jack Sparrow probably the best Pirate we have ever seen, well that's what Jack Sparrow would have us believe.
